Meet Jim Schneider

Jim is the owner of Schneider Construction, LLC. Jim is a master builder. He builds and remodels High Performance custom homes in Virginia’s Eastern Shore that stand as exemplars of quality, design and coastal living.

My father was a contractor and started bringing me to work with him when I was 9. On Saturday mornings we'd get up at 5:30 AM and get on the road to head to the jobsite, always stopping along the way for a donut or a buttered hard roll. He told me he needed my help but in reality, he was a hard working guy trying to make ends meet and this was the time he could afford to spend with me. As I got older, it became a part time job on weekends and school vacations... it was a great way for a young kid to make some money. Although I enjoyed the work, I spent my entire adolescence explaining to my father I was far too smart to be a contractor and shared my plan to become an engineer.

But it quickly became clear to me that my true passion was actually creating structures, not proving mathematically they would work. So in 1985 I started my business and from that humble beginning, have developed into a general contractor that builds and remodels high performance homes. My thirst for knowledge has been satisfied by earning 5 designations from the National Association of Home Builders and this incredible thing called Building Science. It's taught me your home is a living, breathing system that should be constructed and managed as such. After all these years I'm proud to say this is the only job I've ever had. It’s a long way from those Saturday morning rides with my father, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

“This was a house we were framing. I’d already been working with him for about 8 years at this time. Being the boss’s kid isn’t the easiest position to be in but it always motivated me”, says Jim.

Katie Boylan

Interior Designer

An interior designer with over 20 years of experience bringing beautiful, functional spaces to life. I earned my degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts, and since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of residential projects, from model homes to luxury interiors. I live in Virginia Beach with my son, Blake & our new Goldendoodle puppy, Kaia. When I’m not designing, you’ll find us at the beach with family & friends, planning my next home project, or cheering on Blake at one his games. I’m thrilled to bring my creativity, industry knowledge, and passion for design to the team at Schneider Construction, and I look forward to helping our clients create homes they truly love.

Jeremy Wolfe

Service Manager

Jeremy was born into the construction industry, learning the trade at an early age from his grandfather. Those foundational years shaped his skills and work ethic, but his career truly began to flourish after serving in the United States Navy. Stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, Jeremy served as part of the Crash and Salvage Unit aboard the USS Wasp 26 years ago—a role that instilled in him discipline, precision, and a strong sense of duty.

Following his military service, Jeremy launched his own construction business, specializing in residential construction and custom cabinetry. His dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail quickly earned him a reputation for excellence within the industry.

Originally from Sacramento, California, Jeremy spent the past 26 years refining his craft in Oregon and New York before returning to Virginia Beach. He now lives there with his wife, Jessica, their three daughters—Samantha, Tayler, and Jillian—and their three dogs, Kai, Lilly, and Ollie. When he's not on the job site, Jeremy enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, relaxing at the beach or gathered around a backyard bonfire.

Quality Starts Here

It takes more than a group of vendors to build or remodel a Schneider Construction, LLC home. It takes a team of skilled trades and resourceful suppliers. Over the years, we’ve invested in and created solid partnerships to build the top team in both areas. A team that shares our core values and expectations. They are without a doubt, the best at what they do. We’re proud to be among their number. The pride we have in what we do will shine brightly in the project we do for you.

Builder 20 Club

The Craftsmen

NAHB’s 20 Club Program groups 20 “like” builders or remodelers in non-competing areas. We meet several times a year to share wisdom and learn ways from each other to improve our operations. Members share and compare financial information, look for trouble spots, and offer each other advice on how to improve their performance. Participation in this Builder 20 Club has provided Schneider Construction, LLC a collaborative environment and a valuable support network, which has made us a better builder and a better business.
